Show Notes

Hello everyone! Welcome to Take 15. In this episode, we’ll hear a story of survival, and I mean that in a literal way.

Maimah KarmoMy guest is Maimah Karmo, a woman that has endured breast cancer, war in her native Liberia and a lightning strike. What is even more amazing is the way that she has turned her misfortunes into opportunities.

Maimah learned from her parents to be compassionated and to give back. Growing up in a country plagued by war taught her to find the silver lining in any situation. As a young mother her life was turned upside down after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

But Maimah didn’t give up. Instead, she found a way to use her experience to make a difference for other young women going through a similar situation.
