In this podcast episode, we hear from my dear friend Lorraine Caceres. She was born in New York and raised in the Dominican Republic. She decided to move back to the US when she was 18 years old, to start college.
After graduation, she found a well-paying job working for a hedge fund. But neither the money nor the frequent business trips to Europe provided fulfillment for this aspiring journalist.
One day she woke up, quit her job, and decided to give the “crazy idea” of pursuing a career in journalism a try. Her work has paid off. She is now a multiple regional Emmy Award-winning multimedia journalist.
Her motto: “Have the strength to take a leap and the net will appear, eventually”.

In this Episode
- We’ll talk about Lorraine’s career and personal growth journeys.
- Discuss what is it like to be a Millennial, and deal with the frequent negative labels that “experts and research” attribute to this generation.
- Learn about the challenges that she faced pursuing a journalism career in the Dominican Republic, that would ultimately force her to move back to the US.
- Chat about finding inspiration in leadership and contentment in strengthening our faith.
Lorraine’s approach to life is one of positivism.
There is no bargaining, no negotiating… Make happiness a priority
